NB Weitz Contracting is running a 2017 Pergola Special where we will build a 14' by 14' by 8' tall freestanding pergola for $2,500. The pergola is made by carpenters who specialize in decks, exterior trim, and framing entire houses. The posts are treated 6x6s which are cemented into the ground at a depth of 32 inches. We will use treated 2x10s for the beam; which are bolted to both sides of the posts and hurricane clipped to the treated 2x10 joists spaced every 14 inches. We rip down deck boards then router the edges to make a slick 5/4 by 2 3/4 board for the slats spaced every 10 inches on top of the pergola. This is a professionally made pergola by carpenters and it is a permanent fixture (guaranteed not to blow over). We do not sub-contract any of our work and we provide a one-year warranty with all of our work. We are open to customizing any part of the pergola at an extra cost and the paved patio is also an extra. Our driving distance is 45 min from zip code 45420.
Task | Description |
---|---|
Permits | City building codes exist to prevent a uniformed and unaware public from dangerous structures. Prevention is better than the cure, and a deck that holds a graduation party is better than one that doesn't. It may save a few bucks, but running a deck through the county at the least is a second pair of eyes and at the most is a life saved. |
Treated | Regular lumber is prone to termites, rout, and mold. Decks, basements, and anything touching the ground is built with treated lumber or the "green stuff". The wood is treated to help withstand the weather and prevent rout. |
Screws | Decks that are nailed will look great just long enough for the builder to get paid; a season after, and the boards are pulling apart, squeaking, and gapping. Nails slide out with the constant expanding and contracting of the lumber as it goes from climate to climate. Screws are made to bite the wood and stay tight years after construction. |
Stairs | All of our stairs are custom cut on site to guarantee a flat and smooth tread with a predictable landing. We build everything from custom houses to simple decks and we have never installed a set of prefabricated stairs that felt "right". In addition we always install risers on each deck stairs that helps cosmetically but more importantly reduces the amount of bounce. | Professional | As a company we are structured as a LLC. All of our employees are full time and treated with the respect of all federal and state requirements. We are by no means the biggest construction company in town or the most expensive but we do like to think of us as the most professional. |
Legitimacy | NB Weitz isn't floating from one job to another looking for quick cash. We believe that we are growing a company rather than doing a job. As a result it is in our best interest to conduct ourselves in a professional manner while building a large network of satisfied customers. Most of our new customers are gravitated to us by word of mouth, a network earned by giving our customers something to brag about. |
Insured | We stand behind our labor knowing we use the best techniques and follow every applicable industry standard. But most of us are human, mistakes are made. If they are we will do what it takes to make right by us. From dedicating time and recourses to running the problem through our insurance we believe in a product we can stand behind. |
